Barista: Starts at Minimum Wage + Tips

Baristas are the core employees of the Ladder structure. Baristas are the face of the café and the authors of the guest experience. Baristas make drinks, make food, prepare all items necessary for food and drinks, wash and clean all components of the shop, ensure things are stocked, and oversee all parts of the shop’s well-being. They are also the ones who cultivate guests being seen, heard, and valued according to our rubric for the Perfect Guest Interaction. Baristas answer to shift leads and management, ensure all daily and weekly tasks are finished, and take on tasks handed down from management. Baristas must be adaptable and embody HUSTLE to creatively problem-solve and execute tasks.

 

 

Shift Lead: Starts at $14.00 + Tips

In addition to the roles given to the baristas, shift leads act as a spokesperson and liaison for the management. Shift leads delegate tasks to baristas and takes on high-level tasks handed down from management. Shift leads must be highly adaptable and embody HUSTLE to creatively problem-solve, execute tasks, and lead people well.

 

 

Manager/Trainer: Starts at $14.75 + Tips

In addition to the roles given to baristas and shift leads, managers make high-level decisions to increase effectiveness and well-being of the shop, the team, and the company at large. Overseeing orders, inventory, scheduling, leadership development, and shop management are responsibilities unique to the managers. Managers also lead the charge on reaching shop sales goals. Managers endeavor to produce employees who embody HUSTLE and carry the value of HUSTLE into present and future phases of life and work.

 

Regional Manager (Future Role)

Regional managers assist managers in their roles to increase effectiveness and well-being of regional teams, shops, and the company at large. Regional managers establish, maintain, and adapt company-wide systems, structures, and standards. Regional managers may also assist the manager in establishing and reaching regional sales goals and company-wide sales metrics.

 

 

Production: Starts at $14.00 

Those working in Ladder’s production system are responsible for all parts of producing Ladder products, including but not limited to behind-bar coffee, retail coffee bags, cold brew concentrate, and other products. This system includes green coffee inventory, fulfilling customer orders, washing and cleaning all production equipment and areas, and preparing roasted coffee according to Ladder Coffee specifications.
